It has been a whirlwind of a month. Such exciting moments celebrating with friends and family! Best of all – Chris and I have been enjoying these moments so much. We did pick a venue which is my DREAM venue and they only had one date left for next Fall!!! October 11, 2020. You would think “oh that’s a whole 11 months away, plenty of time to plan”. Yeah, no. So many vendors are already booked for that time because it’s Columbus Day weekend! So, I have been a busy bee trying to book our vendors now so that we aren’t left with no one.
This past week, I ‘proposed’ to my bridesmaids and matron of honor! Luckily, everyone said yes. 😉 I am so excited to have these ladies by my side because I know they genuinely will be there for me and make sure my big day is as special as possible.
THE GIFTS
The proposal cards from The Ivory Shoppe on Etsy (Shop Here). The owner was so kind enough to send them to me to make these proposals the best they can be! They came in SO fast and are ADORABLE! Every single girl said they loved the print on the card. It also matched with my wedding theme perfectly. The Ivory Shoppe doesn’t only sell cards, they also make ornaments, wine bottle labels and more! If you’re looking for a way to ‘propose’ to your bridal party, check out their store because you will definitely find what you need.
I also ordered custom made Rae Dunn inspired mugs on Etsy. I wrapped up each of the bridesmaid mugs in clear gift wrap and added burlap rope to hold up the card. For my matron of honor gift, I wanted to make it a little more special so I put the mug in a basket and added a candle with it!
THE WEDDING PARTY
MATRON OF HONOR
Nikki is my big sister and best friend. I obviously knew my whole life that she would be standing right next to me on my big day! She also gets some big credit for Chris and I meeting because she used to work with Chris before I even met him. She told me he was a great guy with a close family which is just what I was looking for. After that, I really wanted to go on a date with him. Luckily, he asked me out (good move Chris). Nikki is 7 years older than me, so growing up was mostly her sticking up for me while my brothers tried to tackle and wrestle me (I’m the youngest of 4). Our relationship then grew into shopping and pedicure trips, dinner dates and fun vacations. I seriously have no idea what I would do without her! She will always be my #1. Nikki is the smartest and most put together person I know, plus she loves me lots, so I know she will be the best matron of honor ever!
BRIDESMAIDS
For my bridal party, I had 5 spots to fill so I had to make some choices of who I needed by my side. Chris and I both come from big families and it’s really important to us to have our siblings standing up there with us on our big day. Because there are more brothers than sisters, I couldn’t wait to add two of my best friends to my side because let’s be real… they are like family anyway.
Starting off with my two best friends Meg and Jackie. I have been best friends with Jackie since 4th grade and Meg since 7th grade. After high school, we always stayed in touch and kept a close relationship. Even though we all got busy at different times in our lives we always were there for each other when needed. I can count on both girls to be honest to my face and crack me up at any moment. Friendship is a two way street and these girls always put in effort to keeping the friendship going! They both really know Chris and I and what our relationship is about which is why I’m excited adding them into my bridal party!
My other three bridesmaids are my sister-in-laws to be! Melissa is Chris’ sister who I can always count on to crack up at Chris’ corny Dad jokes with me. Since day one she has made me feel like a part of the family. Katie and Lily are Chris’ sister-in-laws. Katie has shown that no matter what she will be there for me. Between our girls night dinners and family vacations, we always have a great time together. Lily and I have become to best of friends throughout our casino trips, dinners and our girls trip to Miami. I can call her crying or call her with the best news and no matter what, she is there. I’m so lucky to gain three amazing, fun and loving sisters.
As for the rest of my close friends and loved ones, you better believe I will be celebrating with them on the dance floor the entire night of October 11, 2020! Although it wasn’t a tough choice about adding these girls in my wedding party, it’s tough that I can’t add more. I’m so thankful to have so many people in my life who are there for me and are really great friends! Now onto the next phase of planning…
