It’s been a while since I’ve really written a blog post. The past 2 years that my boutique has been open has really taken my time away. Of course starting your own business is such a learning curve so I had a lot to learn! I’m happy that the boutique is in such a good spot now I can get back to updating the blog. If you don’t/didn’t follow my blog Instagram account, you probably don’t know I was hacked. My whole Instagram account of almost 15k followers was stolen and sold to god knows who. I created a new account but have to start from scratch. 8 years of memories and hard work just got taken from me overnight. ๐ I have definitely learned to turn on two step authentication and be smart about passwords! It was a hard way to learn a lesson but I’ll get through it. Follow my new Instagram account for life/house/fashion updates! www.instagram.com/jennaleeannllc
Now for the fun part, I got married! October 11, 2020 was our wedding date and we could not be happier. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we had to push our big reception to 2021, but we still wanted to get married on our original date so we planned a small ceremony in our front yard. It just consisted of our wedding party and parents. It was honestly perfection! The weather could not have been more perfect, along with the foliage. Because we already planned a big wedding which got moved to next year, we didn’t put too much planning into this. I literally just wore my original bridal shower dress that I never got to wear! Our ceremony was on a perfect Sunday afternoon in our front yard. We bought our new house back in May with a good amount of land that overlooks the eastern CT mountains. The backdrop for our ceremony was spot on to what I could’ve ever imagined and the fact that it was at our forever home made is SO special. After the vows, we did a bunch of photos and then everyone changed into their sweats and got ready for cornhole, beer, pizza and smores around our firepit. Matron of honor and best men speeches under our string lights was a highlight! We are super lucky to have such close loved ones that we were able to celebrate with.
Here are a couple of sneak peek photos but I cannot wait to make a post with all of our photos from our special day. Thank you to Deirdre Photography for capturing our wedding so perfectly.
Being a COVID bride was tough. There were so many times I just wanted to give up and elope. Now, I know this is such first world problems, but it wasn’t easy being a couple months away from the day you’ve been waiting for your whole life and then being told to re-plan it for another year. However, we wanted to make sure all of our guests were going to be comfortable and after talking around, we knew a few of them were not. Even though most people said they would be comfortable, especially because everything was outdoor in a field, to us it was better to wait a year to make sure 100% of our guest list is ready. It has been quite the year for us all. My heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one during this pandemic. I know how hard grief is. I have experienced a lot of trauma in my almost 28 years of living… more than most 20 something year old’s even know is possible. Trauma and loss teach you to be grateful for every little thing that makes you happy and it makes you stronger than most. So for that, be thankful for the silver lining.
I am so thankful to have a loving husband by my side. I am so lucky to be his number one. I so look forward to our future together and can’t wait to go through life’s experiences with my best friend. We are both looking forward to celebrating our marriage with all of our friends and family at the end of 2021!
