Hey guys!
I am Azraa, over at Prettiful Blog, all the way from beautiful South Africa. First of all, let me thank Jenna for letting me Guest Post, it’s always exciting to post on someone else’s site, especially when it’s from the other side of the world. Prettiful Blog is a makeup and beauty blog, as you may have gathered with a focus on product reviews and of course hauls, because I love to shop!
I am lucky enough to be able to try many new and wonderful products, so today I will be sharing ‘What’s New in My Makeup Bag’, the best of the bunch that have found a permanent place in my little black bag.
Swatches from top-bottom:
Dark circles are one of my biggest problems, and the best way to hide it, is with a peach or salmon corrector. So, when I saw this Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener in Dark Peach I knew I had to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. It is really light and thin, so it doesn’t crease, but it disguises my dark circles really well. Also, because it isn’t too orange, I can get away with using this without a concealer over, I just set it with a bit of powder, and I am good to go!
Next up I have the essence Luminous Matte Bronzing Powder in Sunglow. I love essence because it is such an affordable brand, yet is always on trend! This bronzer reminds me a lot of the Oriental Beauty bronzer which is a favourite of mine, but was part of the limited Trend Edition. It is a matte but luminous bronzer, don’t ask me how that works, but it just does! It adds a warm glow to the face without being too harsh, too orange or too shimmery.
Next up I have a bit of a splurge product, the Tom Ford Cheek Color in Savage. I would describe this as a rusty brick red with a slight golden shimmer. The thing I love most about this product is the texture, it is so buttery soft and finely milled. It is really pigmented, but can be applied lightly or built up for an intense colour. I love this blush all year round!
Since we are entering Summer here in South Africa, a bright lip colour is a must for me, and the brighter the better! When the Lancôme Matte Shaker launched, I expected it to be a sheer tint, similiar to the Juicy Shaker, but matte, boy was I wrong! The pigment is amazing, it is comfortable and long-lasting, and I really can’t fault it in any way. This shade is Yummy Pink, and it is a perfect bright pink for summer!
For days when I need to wear more of a nude lip, I have been loving the L’Oreal Color Riche Matte in Mahogany Studs. It applies like a dream, and it is velvety soft thanks to the addition of Black Camelia Oil. It is also long-lasting and so pigmented while still being comfortable on the lips.
The Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel is a forgotten gem that I recently rediscovered in my collection. It is smooth, long-lasting and super-pigmented. Once set, this blackish brown shade stays put, even on my waterline. I like that these liners can also be used as a smudged eyeshadow, although I prefer the lighter shades for that purpose.
Recently I have also been loving the Mii Cosmetics Forever Eye Crayon in Rose Gold. It is so quick to apply, and looks so gorgeous! I apply this to my entire lid, give it a quick blend with my finger and I am good to go. It doesn’t smudge or crease and is so so pigmented. Also, once you apply it, it doesn’t budge, which is great for the warm weather!
What is a makeup bag with a mascara right? My recent favourite is the Catrice Glam & Doll Mascara. Catrice, big sister to essence, is another one of my favourite affordable brands, and I rate their mascaras pretty high! I love the wand, it separates my lashes perfectly, thanks to the long, thin bristles. The formula is thin and light, yet it holds my lashes without flaking or smudging. I also don’t need sandpaper to remove it, which is always a win!
Hope you liked the little peek inside my makeup bag! Share what’s inside yours in the comments below, and don’t forget to check out my site, I am also on Twitter and Pinterest so come say Hi!
Alright guys, that’s it for week 2! What did you think? which makeup product is your favorite? I probably should go through mine soon and get rid of what I don’t need… Oh well! Hope you enjoyed. 🙂
