This post today is one I’ve been super excited about sharing! Since I live in Florida, it’s already starting to get warmer here. The only problem? Almost ALL of the clothes that I brought with me during my move in January are perfect for the winter!
I know some people are still currently in a winter vortex, but here in Florida it’s already 85 and sunny! This isn’t a brag by the way. I LOVEthe cold and I’m really sad that it’s already this hot in February. I’m already having to break out my spring clothes!
How to Transition Winter Styles Into Spring Staples
Yellow Sweater + White Button Front Dress
This first outfit is one of my spring favorites so far! I am so in love with throwing a lot of color into my looks for the warmer months. The way I did it with this one was adding in these lovely purple heels and a yellow sweater!
My yellow sweater from ASOS is the first was to transition winter clothing into spring. I think a great way to work in some of your spring items earlier on is by pairing them with sweaters! I actually flipped this one around. This is the back of it!
I also think a great way to mix in color is through shoes and accessories. These purple heels from Target are the way that I did so in the look above! It turned out so well and I think they contrast perfectly with the yellow sweater.
Blue Satin Blazer + Corduroy Skirt
This next look is also another favorite of mine! I love this teal satin blazer from LOFT. It really is a unique piece that I haven’t seen many other places! This is the next way that you can transition winter looks into the springtime.
This darker color is great for the winter, but it can also be great for the summer too! The way I made this work more for the spring was by adding a dark rust corduroy skirt! Pairing it with a skirt makes it better for warmer months, but still chic.
I also thought a way to make this a little bit warmer of an outfit would be to add a nice v-neck white blouse from Old Navy! This top is great because it’s still a nice spring look if you take the blazer off. It allows it to be a bit more versatile!
Striped Cardigan + Dark Wash Jeans
This look is a bit more fall than it is spring, but honestly the transition to spring in most places feel like fall! I love this cardigan from Amazon because it’s cozy and affordable. The colors are bright and adorable!
The piece that I transitioned from winter to spring is actually the cardigan! In the winter you’ll probably have to wear a jacket over this cardigan. Throwing it on over a nice little strappy cami is a great way to welcome the warmer months!
The strappy cami is also a closet staple that you can use year round! I also love wearing deep cognac hues in the spring because it offsets all of the more pastel tones! This look has some darker colors anyway so it works great in this case.
Black Blazer + Pink Skirt
This last look is a work wear FAVORITE of mine! I am really into fitted blazers as a trend and I think this one works perfectly no matter what season you’re in. That being said, the transitional piece of clothing in this look is the over the knee boots!
You might be like “uhhhh those are definitely a cold weather item.” I do partially agree with you, but I think they can easily be worn as spring staple too! They’re great to pair with shorter skirts, especially in the work place.
I also like that they add a more casual element to an otherwise professional look! It shows that you mean business but that you also know how to have fun. This pink skirt is also the perfect accent to add a more spring-like pop of color!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I am sooo happy that I got to share my tips with a new audience! I love Jenna’s page and her sense of style and hope you can all utilize these tips in your own wardrobe!
I love making my clothes work for me in a sense. Being able to transition various looks from season to season is something I’ll always appreciate and aim for. Winter clothes for me can only be worn a couple months a year, I try to make sure those pieces can move to spring!
